Fixing Climate Change

Earth has been experiencing drastic changes in its biosphere. This year 2015 has been recorded as hottest year and we have observed impacts of Climate Change such as droughts, extreme events, heat waves, sea level rise which is causing an alarming impact on food, water, ecosystems, lives and human health. Among species human are the most adaptive to changing the environment but until the climate system reaches its tipping point. A 4°C warmer world can, and must be, avoided – we need to hold warming below 2°C," said World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim. It is expected that even if countries fulfill current emissions-reduction pledges climate could warm from the current global mean temperature of 0.8°C above pre-industrial levels, to as high as 4°C by 2100. What does our future hold? Industrial revolution took place between 1820 and 1840 which transferred world from wood and other biofuels to coal as source of energy. According to NASA, within 64 years from 1950 to 2014

Call4climate: climate change and health effect

Climate varies according to the distance from the Earth's equator. It changes over long timeframe.  Today, Climate is changing; our planet is warming quickly than never before, Global warming is causing Earth's average temperature to increase. The consequences of climate change as rising temperature, changes in precipitation, and rising sea level has greatest impact on human health. This year turned out to be the hottest ever recorded, scientist is reporting globally. Hotter days can include health problems such as dizziness, headache and fainting but heat stroke is more severe and requires medical treatment. Body temperature rises, skin dries and person gets unconscious. According to Nick Watts, the head of the commission, “Climate Change has the potential to undermine the last 50 years of advancements in public health.” Every year average of 688 deaths occurs only due to extreme heat (center for disease control). Central Asia is currently experiencing of one of the h

Journey which had name as "community knowledge management", "diversity trails". Tourism Development Endeavors, YES Nepal and Korean Green Foundation was supporting journey which was meant to be for several purpose. Our journey began on august 26 with flight from Kathmandu to Nepagunj. As per plan, we were supposed to stay in Nepalgunj and fly to Dolpa early morning on 27 th August. It was the day before traditional ceremony called "Teej". It was surprise for us, this city didn't sleep whole night instead women's danced in the beat of folk song and men were gazing those beautiful ladies in red traditional customs.  It was so difficult to survive that hot air and temperature with mosquito buzzing around ear whole night. 27 th , All bags were packed with the excitement to see beauty of Dolpa. We entered airport at right time. Unfortunately, we had to roam around departure room for one hour and were informed flight has been cancelled!!

Climate Change and negotiations

Climate change is a complex term to understand. Some understand it as a critical issues and situation while some of them ignore it saying a natural process. What do you think it is? Should we seriously act on it? Our Home: Earth has been experiencing drastic changes in its biosphere. According to NASA, within 64 years from 1950 to 2014 the carbon dioxide level (ppm) has increased from about 320 to around 400 ppm, the change had never been above 300 ppm in 650000 years. How many years will life survive when carbon dioxide rate is increasing rapidly in atmosphere? What will our coming generation face our home as? According to scientist, In last century the global sea level rose about 6.7 inches while the rate of increase is nearly double in decades  that of last century. The Himalayas are seen without snow caps, the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheet have decreased in mass about 150 to 250 cubic km of ice per year (NASA).  Will our home be a water world in future? It&
