WE ARE AFFECTED.....WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR?

Every day while walking on the roads of kathmandu i always had a curiosity being an Environmental student"why isn't the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of the extended road of kathamandu being done?, if the assessment has been done where are the mitigation measures applied to control pollution?". While lately the thing stroked in my mind, at the very situation we need to be concerned about the measurement of air pollution and at which level we are facing it day to day, how and at what level is it affecting our health. In 2002,  at the six stations the deviceS were installed to measure the air pollution parameters: patan, thamel, putalisadak, bhaktapur, kritipur and matsyagaun. But as i am doing a surface research on "Analysis of air pollution measurement devices installed by DANIDA", came to know that most of the devices are not working

Outdoor air quality monitoring stations in the Valley ceased to operate. Population of the kathmandu Valley are suffering, the extent of which is unknown. Who are responsible for ? What are the true reasons for this delay in resuming the operation? What is the government actually doing to solve the problem?.  i visited ENPHO for gathering information and i found the progress report till 2008. It was said to me that  the rest of the reports are with NESS, yet to visit NESS for more information. What are the reasons behind the abrupt discontinuity of the monitoring stations? The country has gained expertise in the technical management of the monitoring sites. While large amount of money and efforts has been put in the past to measure the level of air pollution, i am still on my way for further research,,,,,...........but   it is sad to know that the Ministry has not kept all the data that was generated from the project and has made no efforts for maintaining the devices as i have known.

With all excitement and motivation first day with fruitfulness began from Bhirkutimandap where bus was waiting for all 100 participants. RATNAPARK-OUR RESPONSIBILITY

Shocked!! is this how Ratnapark looks ??? i never thought it would be very Peaceful, green ...wow even ponds, fountains though dirty since last 7 years- It was the first time i ever entered in the premises... and i was very lucky because the first time i entered was the first time when KMC restricted the entrance of public. Being at the place was for a purpose, I along with my friend had to take permission for 22 April "EARTH DAY".......as we explained our planned event, we were appreciated by Mr. Hari Kc for a good cause which would help them as well. The Slogan for EARTH DAY was GREEN CITIES this was the perfect place for us to create awareness being power shifters. A Visit to Bhaktapur

  Explored Bhaktapur today, was surprised to see those people who were proud of themselves constructing a way for sewage to Manohara River. People constructing a canal kept my eye on, i was curious so i asked them " Is this canal for the irrigation purpose?" and what i heard made me comment bitterly "stone the crows", it was actually sewarage for sewage   way out to  Manohara   river.   I couldn't walk away so i asked them who is actually responsible for making this swerage?,,,,was surprised more with the answer... the reply was "Bhaktapur munipality". While We are trying to change the scenario of Bagmati at the one hand,  Manohara   is being polluted more at the other hand.
